South African collective, Team Lazerbeam have announced a couple of major updates with regards to their studio and their upcoming game – Shroom and Gloom.

The first and arguably the most exciting is the news that their in development title – Shroom and Gloom has been snapped up by an as yet unrevealed publisher which was shared on social media.

“We celebrated signing with an absolutely awesome publisher for Shroom and Gloom! It’s likely still gonna be a while before we can officially announce who we’ve partnered with, so for now all I’ll say is that we’re teaming up with the coolest people we could ever have asked for. As soon as we can share more details, you’ll all be the first to hear about it!

The good news didn’t end there with the studio also revealing that they have recently received the keys to their first working space.

“Today we got the keys for very first office! We’ll be taking up a space in the new Maker’s Massive, the amazing hub for Cape Town’s game dev community.”

Formed in late 2014, when friends Jason Sutherland, Richard Pieterse and Ben Rausch joined forces to make a game for Ludlum Dare 31, Team Lazerbeam philosophy is on making short, cute, surreal, personal experiences about junk food and feelings.

The Shroom and Gloom prototype is available to download on Itch.io now
