Tunisian indie developer NewGen Studio has released a new gameplay trailer for Gone Digging, its upcoming 1–4 player co-op survival horror game, offering a deeper look at the dangerous mining, looting and survival mechanics at the heart of the project.

First revealed on Steam earlier this year, Gone Digging puts players in the role of treasure-seeking diggers who must venture into unstable caves during the day, gather valuable resources and upgrade their equipment before nightfall brings a much more dangerous challenge.

The game’s central premise combines resource management and exploration with an increasingly ominous survival-horror loop. Players can work together to explore underground environments, uncover loot and maximise their haul, before deciding what resources to sell, retain or sacrifice.

Gone Digging is set to launch into Steam Early Access, with NewGen planning an initial run of roughly 9 to 12 months in that phase while it expands the game based on community feedback. The studio says it intends to add more maps, monsters, and digging tools over that period, alongside improvements to the multiplayer experience. A single-player demo is already available on the game’s Steam page for players who want a preview ahead of launch.

The trailer is yet another notch on the belt for NewGen Studio, which continues to support its breakout title West Hunt while developing a sequel, and has signalled plans for further horror projects and a new title, North Hunt, later in the year.

Gone Digging is available to wishlist on Steam now.
