Microsoft partners with Gebeya to launch Virtual Skillslab

As part of its continued efforts to build digital skills capacity, employability, and close the skills gap on the African continent, Microsoft 4Afrika has partnered with Pan-African EdTech company and talent marketplace Gebeya Inc. and the Technology and Innovation Institute, Ethiopia (TechIn) to launch its first virtual SkillsLab in Ethiopia. For those with long term ambitions to delve into the gaming industry it could be a watershed moment.

Esports Federation of Africa steps into the limelight

A new governing body designed to collaborate, coordinate, partner, build and sustain the growth of esports on the continent has been formed. ESFA or The Esports Federation of Africa has been formed by a community of both private esports entities and national federations as well as being affiliated to WESCO.

Qene Technologies releases Gebeta

Addis Ababa based studio – Qene Technologies have launched their second title Gebeta. The renowned game outfit garnered acclaim with the release of their first mobile game – Kukulu in 2018 and look to follow it up with a game based on the traditional African board game Mancala.
