Event host and Usiku Games CEO Jay Shapiro has announced that Kenya is set to host the first Unreal Engine networking event in Nairobi to showcase the capabilities of the 3D computer graphics game engine developed by Epic Games.
The free-to-attend event welcomes all developers, animators and all other interested parties to witness firsthand how the powerful real-time 3D creation tool is used to create photoreal visuals and immersive experiences for consumers worldwide. The event is also a networking opportunity for people who share a common interest in understanding how the Engine aids in the production of fantastic games and animations.

Unreal Engine has been used in a variety of genres of games and has seen adoption by other industries. The Engine has features such as collision detection, colored lighting, and texture filtering. Unreal Engine 5.2 is the latest version of the Engine, which empowers artists to achieve unprecedented levels of detail and interactivity.
Some popular African games and projects developed with Unreal Engine include Dimension 11 Studios, Legends of Orisha, Jiwe Studios, Meta Reality Project, Outliver: Tribulation by GBrossoft and Kenya’s First 3D game, Nairobi X.
Globally, some popular games such as Gears of War, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Fortnite, Bioshock, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus have been developed with Unreal Engine as well.
