Following a busy year that has seen the Tunisian developer expand into console gaming, cooperative horror and Viking-themed social deduction, NewGen is taking a softer approach with its upcoming desktop companion game – Cozy Cottontail Desktop.

The game puts Wabbit, a small bunny, on the player’s desktop, where he keeps them company while they work, study or browse. It is designed to run in the background rather than compete for attention, joining the growing wave of “idle” and desktop companion titles on PC.

The game features six rooms, each with three different styles, alongside 14 colour options and 14 patterns. Players can also adopt and dress up different pets, including rabbits, cats and bears, gradually building a personalised environment for their desktop companion.

For those who prefer to keep their desktop uncluttered, a dedicated Widget Mode allows Wabbit to remain visible in a smaller format while players continue with their regular computer activities.

The studio’s breakout remains West Hunt, a Wild West social deduction game that entered Steam Early Access in June 2022. It passed 110,000 copies in its first eight months, helped by streamers such as SMii7Y. By late 2024 a Prop Hunt expansion had pushed sales past 200,000 units, with 142,000 wishlists and around two and a half years of weekly updates behind it.

West Hunt was also ported to the Nintendo Switch, with Snail Games’ indie label Wandering Wizard as publisher. In May 2024 Snail announced a Switch in-game store for the game, selling skins, pets and influencer skins. This year the studio took the formula north. North Hunt, a social deduction game set in a Viking village, and launched on 13 July 2026 on Steam. Thieves hide among NPC villagers while chiefs try to unmask them, in matches from 1v1 up to 4v4.

NewGen has also applied their unique penchant into other genres. Gone Digging was revealed on Steam in February. Ben Hamouda admitted he didn’t know where the “crazy idea” came from, crediting developer Chourouk Hichri as “a true code digger”.

They have also expanded into publishing via their Perfect Gen which has spawned a few small successes.
