NewGen’s West Hunt continues to go from strength to strength and showcases the value of a well oiled live service title. Since its latest DLC, the game has seen an uptick in sales and garnered an astonishing 142k wishlists.
Since its release in June 2022, West Hunt has slowly carved out a niche in the growing band of games within the social deduction space. Popularized by titles such as Among Us and Goose Goose Duck, West Hunt has garnered a passionate following among online content creators culminating in the game shifting over 200K units.

GIA reached out to the studios founder Seifeddine Ben Hamouda for comments.
What have been previous updates to West Hunt and how long do you envision supporting the game?
We have been supporting the game since it’s early access in June 2022 so it’s about 2.5 years of weekly updates and improvements.
We did a lot of updates going from bug fixing to adding new content and maps to adding completely new features.(You can check the steam updates history for the full list)
What has been the marketing and additional content strategy to West Hunt and why has Prop Hunt reached and exceeded your expectations?
For marketing honestly we just contacted the previous WH influencers and announced to the players base we have… So it was all organic marketing. The fact that it’s a Prop Hunt mode itself helped a lot bringing new players who are prop hunt fans and encouraged old WH to comeback and try the new Mode. I think Prop Hunt is an international feature that you can add to any game.
What can fans expect next from West Hunt and what is next for NewGen?
We will keep working on West Hunt, but also get ready for West Hunt 2. Also we will start developing 2 new titles in 2025 (Horror genre games) and we have another big surprise that will be announced when the right time comes.
