Even though globally the number of women in leading roles within the video game industry is growing, underrepresentation still exists. She’s got game is an initiative by the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia that aims to promote gender equality and diversity in the Swiss and international video games scene.

The initiative takes the form of a mentorship programme which seeks to empower participants by helping them foster international exchange with peers and industry veterans as well as promote discussions around the topic of women in games.

The programme seeks  African women working in game development to benefit from:

  • One-on-one online mentorship with an international expert in the industry
  • Online lectures to develop entrepreneurial and professional skills
  • Peer-to-peer exchange with other participants in the programme
  • Visibility for their work

The eligibility criteria for the applicants are as follows:

  • The call is open to emerging talents working on an independent interactive media project designed for computers, mobile phones, tablets, game consoles, virtual reality headsets or similar devices.
