Agency Narratify has announced the launch of the Afro Game Showcase, a digital event that aims to elevate African-made games and developers onto the global stage. Scheduled for June 25, the showcase will stream live on YouTube and feature trailers, gameplay reveals, and developer interviews from more than 20 upcoming PC and mobile games created across Africa and its diaspora.

According to Narratify co-founder Jennifer Lufau, the showcase was born out of the need to challenge persistent barriers facing African developers.

“Talented African developers are creating incredible games, often while overcoming major technical hurdles, such as limited access to devkits from major console platforms,” said Lufau. “The Afro Game Showcase is our answer to breaking down these barriers, giving international exposure to these studios, and proving the maturity of this ecosystem.”

The inaugural edition will be hosted in both English and French by Narratify co-founders Jennifer Lufau and Mickaël Newton, reflecting the showcase’s ambition to connect with audiences across multiple regions and languages. The programme will feature a curated selection of games spanning genres including action-adventure, puzzle, and family-friendly titles.

Narratify revealed that the final lineup was selected from more than 75 submissions received from developers around the world. Alongside game reveals and trailers, viewers can expect behind-the-scenes conversations with creators from countries including Kenya, Nigeria, France, and Brazil, highlighting both the continental and diaspora dimensions of African game development.

“For this first edition, we are sending a clear signal to the global industry: wake up, African gaming is already here,” Lufau added.

The Afro Game Showcase 2026 will air on June 25 at 8:00 PM WAT, 9:00 PM CEST, and 10:00 PM EAT via Narratify’s YouTube channel. Narratify is also inviting streamers and content creators to participate in co-streaming and community coverage initiatives surrounding the event.
