Cape Town based, The Brotherhood have broken with recent tradition and opted to go first person for their latest and fifth project – Animal Use Protocol. A departure from their traditional top down isometric roots.

The creators of STASIS and BONE TOTEM are taking you on a terrifying journey in ANIMAL USE PROTOCOL. In this 3D first-person, narrative-focused survival horror game, you play as Penn, a hyper-intelligent chimpanzee leading the desperate escape of lab animals from a nightmarish facility, where every corner hides new terror.

Revealing the news via social media the studio stated,

We’re thrilled to unveil the first teaser trailer for ANIMAL USE PROTOCOL. In this (our first) first-person survival-horror experience, you play as Penn, a hyper-intelligent chimp leading a risky escape of lab animals from Anchorage Station – a nightmarish research facility -Classic Brotherhood! Joined by Trip, a scrappy, wise-ass rat, you’ll dodge threats and need to find inventive ways to survive using a physics gravity-manipulation tool for defence and problem-solving. So not Isometric, but still our stories wrapped up in a new format. Lot’s of work still to do (mid 2026ish planned release date), but now that we have announced it we can share all details and development news etc.
