The Virtual Exchange is a development program for grantees from underrepresented communities worldwide. In short, this is an opportunities for developers across the length and breadth of Africa.
The IGDA Foundation’s Virtual Exchange is a six-week development program designed for over 60 grantees from underrepresented communities globally. Through tailored workshops, panels, and events featuring insights from industry veterans and game companies, the program aims to uplift, educate, and empower the next generation of video game developers. Each participant is paired with a dedicated gaming professional to provide personalized guidance throughout the program.
With access to coaching, industry veterans, and game companies, the program uplifts, educates, and empowers the next generation of video game leaders.
The Virtual Exchange is a six-week program (approximately 2-3 hours per week) over August/September. Exact timing will be announced at a later date.
The Virtual Exchange program is divided into three cohorts
Next Gen Leaders supports mid-career game industry professionals as they look to transition to leadership roles in the industry.
Velocity is for professionals looking to transition into the game industry from another nongaming-related career or industry.
The International Scholars cohort consists of students attending or recently graduated from colleges and universities worldwide (including those in HBCU and HSI) with a goal of preparing its grantees for a career in the video game industry.
Applications are accepted until April 30th and can be done via this website.
