Genii Games is a Nigerian company that was founded in 2012 by Adebayo Adegbembo. It is the parent entity behind the Asa brand. Asa means culture in Yoruba. The brand owns a growing collection of interactive mobile apps and web videos that feature games, animation, voice, text, sound and colourful graphics centred around African cultures, children and education.

Yoruba 101 Ikini is one of Asa’s interactive mobile apps. It is a bilingual app that tells the story of Ade’s visit to his parents on a typical Saturday. The day-long journey brings Ade into contact with different Yoruba people and events. Ade greets the Yoruba people he meets which helps the player learn various Yoruba greetings and responses in the process.

Greetings are one of the most important and interesting features of Yoruba culture. Yoruba 101 Ikini uses a simple storyline, game and songs to teach children and adult learners Yoruba greetings.

Genii Games is another language learning solution named after the parent entity of the Asa brand. It is an entertaining app that is designed to teach African languages. It is targeted at children aged 6 and above as well as adult learners.

Through the app, the player stands a chance to learn how to converse in Kiswahili, Twi, Yoruba, Igbo, Wolof and Ewe which are spoken across Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Togo, Cameroon, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda just to mention a few African countries.

The app contains over a dozen lessons and games for each language. The player gets to track their progress on the dashboard. The lessons and games are delivered in colourful cartoon images and interactive conversational flow.

The brand also has a Yoruba101 bilingual book available on Amazon. The book goes by the title Yoruba 101: Greetings: Ade visits his parents: Volume 1. In addition they have a YouTube channel with filled with more lessons by Aunty Chi who teach
