With Global Game Jam continuing to grow from strength to strength the annual industry event has revealed the identity of two new regional organisers in Africa. Sidick Bakayoko will oversee West and Central Africa, whilst Thierry Brochart is tasked with South East Islands.

Sidick Bakayoko is a vocal advocate of the African games industry as well as founder of FEJA festival and Paradise Games. Reunion based Thierry Brochart is co founder of Gamayun Productions and has organized Glocal Game Jams in the region over the past few years.

The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Since its inception in 2008, the event aims to encourage people from all backgrounds to participate and contribute to the global spread of game development and creativity.

Applications to run a GGJ 2020 jam site are now open with next years iteration due to run from 31 January 2020 to 2 February 2020.
