Since late 2017, interdisciplinary teams from 15 African countries conceived ideas and visions for their cities and turned them into game experiences. Playable on mobile phones, 15 location-based games have been created under the moniker – Enter Africa. They are made for everybody keen to actively anticipate and engage with their cities’ transformation and to get to know their city from a new perspective.
The Enter Africa project was designed to inspire young people in Sub-Saharan Africa to use game thinking as a tool to address everyday challenges.
This digital launch will be an opportunity for us to review the various stages of evolution, from the initial launch phase of the project to the finalization of the first versions of the games. This is the result of a collaboration between the Goethe-Institut and the numerous members of the Enter Africa community (South Africa, Senegal, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Ghana, Togo, Côte d’Ivoire, Namibia, DRC, Cameroon, and Kenya).
