As part of a collaboration with AppMagic as well as to better understand the size and revenue generating potential across the African continent within the mobile gaming space, GIA has once again put the data being generated by Appmagic under a microscope to see what games topped the charts in the first half of 2023 as well as to see what the revenue generating trends are.
Following on from our look at the top selling mobile games in Algeria and Egypt from the first half of 2023, we turn our gaze to Nigeria.

The top ten selling mobile games in Nigeria generated over $1.2M over the first six months of 2023, with Candy Crush Saga, Call of Duty: Mobile and PUBG Mobile the top revenue drivers.
The mobile jewel in Activision Blizzard King’s mobile crown – Candy Crush Saga was the top selling mobile title in Nigeria overbthe first six months of 2023. The juggernaut which has been recently acquired by Microsoft accounted for over $330k. With May the top generating month and accounting for over $59k.
Call of Duty: Mobile generated over $192k over the first six months of the year to cement its place as the most successful action shooter in the country. Even though its popularity is a close call with PUBG Mobile slightly edging. As a result to its lax approach to local community communication.
Speaking of PUBG Mobile, took the third podium spot in top selling mobile games by accounting for almost $170k over the first six months of 2023.
