State of the ARt is a joint initiative between the Goethe-Institut Nairobi, Jenga CCI and BlackRhino VR. It was started in 2019 and it sets out to use immersive technologies to change the way creatives make and experience art.
The idea behind State of the ARt is to integrate visual art forms with Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) and deploy these technologies in a learning and experimental context while building capacity and exposing visual artists to these new art forms.
It sets the foundation for an unprecedented evolution of art exhibitions, art spaces and art trading through the fusion of art and technology. The 3 month training program helps creatives to upskill and build capacity. The 3rd version – State of the ARt 3.0 is set to start soon. The call for application is out with a 17th April 23:59 EAT deadline.
The program includes soft skills training where the visual artists are taught how to market, pitch and brand themselves. In addition they also get to learn the skills needed to write good proposals and to reach out to sponsors thus creating a business for themselves.
Apply for an opportunity to learn AR and VR art tools as you closely work together with the BlackRhinoVR team to build your own eXtended Reality(XR) project and present it in a public showcase that has a world wide reach.
BlackRhinoVR is an award-winning XR agency that creates bespoke VR and AR solutions and content which is relevant and adaptable to the African market. As a previous participant of one of their programs dubbed Moran StoryLab. I would like to encourage you to apply as a fantastic time awaits you.
