Games and Politics is a touring exhibition developed by Goethe Institut and ZKM The centre of Art and Media Karlsruhe. The series deals with the role and relevance of games and gaming in society and has been a fixture across the globe since its inception with Uganda hosting the 2022 edition.

In an announcement Danze Edwin, the curator of the 2022 edition said “ I’m so excited to be curating and hosting the first-ever Games and Politics Global exhibition in Uganda. I’m looking forward to sharing and networking with the people that are contributing to the gaming industry in Africa and the world.”

The exhibition is taking place at Design Hub 5th Street Industrial Area in Kampala. It started on the 18th of March and it will be on for two months. On the opening night, there were performances from 4 artists Daphne, Davis, Izaya the Composer and Hibotep as well as a panel on Diversity, Safety and Inclusion in Gaming.

Danze added” The event will attract people from the gaming industry; game developers in Uganda, character designers and investors who have been investing in gaming. The event will have amazing keynote speakers, surprise guests, performances from Deejays, musicians, poets among others.”

The event is hosted by Goethe Zentrum Kampala in cooperation with Design Hub Kampala and  Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. The event has already attracted the attention of local Ugandan media like NBS Television and Ugandans are encouraged to pass by Design Hub and experience the captivating games in the exhibition.
