Originally announced in December at Africa Games Week 2024, the Games Connect Africa was revealed amidst significant fanfare to help propel the African games industry from its potential to global relevance.

Games Connect Africa is a regional initiative which seeks to build a strong, interconnected, and sustainable gaming ecosystem across the continent, empowering local talent and fostering collaboration at every level.

Whilst still in its early stages, the initiative has now launched a website as well as an open call as it begins its work to achieves its objectives.

  • Increase and strengthen the number of commercially successful middle-sized game studios in Africa.
  • Facilitate long-term international collaborations between African studios and global partners.
  • Establish an active pan-African games network.
  • Increase the global market share of African-developed games.

This platform will serve as a hub for African game developers, studios, and industry stakeholders to connect, collaborate, and share resources, fostering a truly interconnected and dynamic gaming community across the continent.
