Ghanaian studio Leti Arts has released a major update to the Steam demo of Karmzah, its side-scrolling action-adventure game, bringing reworked combat, refreshed visuals, a revised story and a brand-new mini boss fight.

Karmzah follows Morowa Adjei, an explorer whose discovery of an ancient artifact transforms her into Karmzah, a fast-moving warrior with new powers. Joined by her quick-witted guide Muzu, she fights strange creatures, avoids deadly traps and digs into the mysteries of a forgotten past across handcrafted levels drawn from African myth and legend.

Combat is one of the central focuses of the update, with Leti Arts reworking several systems to make encounters faster-paced and more responsive. Character movement has been rebuilt to offer greater control and fluidity, while enemy balancing has been adjusted to improve the overall combat experience.

The parry system has also been revamped, with more satisfying feedback intended to make defensive actions feel more impactful. Players can additionally experiment with a new ability that expands Karmzah’s combat options.

The update’s most prominent gameplay addition is Soumaoro the Hollow, a new mini-boss designed to give players another challenge as they explore Gomahsan. Beyond combat, Leti Arts has introduced new artwork and character models, alongside enhanced visual effects for combat and special abilities.

The user interface has also been redesigned to provide a cleaner, more intuitive experience. These presentation improvements accompany broader performance optimisations intended to deliver smoother gameplay and better stability. The demo now also includes save-and-load functionality, allowing players to preserve their progress and return to their journey later.

The studio is encouraging players to try the latest version, share their feedback and wishlist the full game on Steam. You can download Karmzah demo on Steam now.
