As part of its long-term commitment to the African games industry, Games Industry Africa has launched an events focused platform that will feature key industry events across the continent whilst also being a launchpad for GIAs own series of events due to kick off in 2023.

Helmed by Johana Riquier, GIA Events continues the long heralded ambition to not only be a proving ground for the unquestionable breadth of talent across the continent, but to play an additional role in knowledge facilitation as well as networking for the many talented creatos in Africa.

The first few events have alredy lined up with more scheduled between now andd over the course of 2023.

Kicking off the first GIA Event is a look at the at the current state of the African games industry. This event will among others feature presentations from Steam, Gara Store and Newzoo and is designed to provide an overview of the gaming lansdcape today.

Quickly following that will be two GIA themed sessions called Talks. These will pair a Western based developer with their African counterpart to reflect, discuss and acknowledge the realities, similarities and differences between their respective roles from both ends of the geographical spectrum.

All talks and events are free to attend for developers and those keen to learn more about the locl and international games industry. With registration for each and every event series due to open early in 2023.
