Launched in 2021, GameUp Africa which was formed as a collaboration between Google and Maliyo Games has in a relatively short time evolved to become an essential avenue for those wishing to develop as mobile game developers.
Initially targeting primarily students, the GameUp Bootcamp was designed for individuals with basic programming knowledge or a computer science background with the initiative also offering a generous data allowance to enable students access course materials and download relevant software. It has now expanded its offerings to games industry professionals seeking further insight into how to boost their mobile games performance.

Starting this November, weekly events with experts from across Google Play, Cloud, Firebase, Analytics, AdMob, and Ads will play host on topics to help improve mobile game’s performance on the Google Play Store.
The events are open to mobile developers across the continent with interested applicants encouraged to learn more and sign up via the GameUp website.
