One of the stables of the games industry calendar returns for another year, but in a decidedly different format as a result of the ongoing global pandemic. Whilst most have opted to hold the jams entirely online, some have a mix of in person and virtual assemblies.

Kirubel Girma Habtu – East Africa
Sithe Ncube – Central and Southern Africa
The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game jam event (game creation) taking place around the world at physical locations. Since its inception in 2008, the event aims to encourage people from all backgrounds to participate and contribute to the global spread of game development and creativity.
Applications to run a GGJ 2021 jam site are now open with with this years event due to run from 27 January 2020 to 31 January 2021.
