FitNot’s upcoming project, titled Ali Al-Zeibaq, is described as a 2D isometric stealth adventure set in 14th-century Mamluk Cairo. Drawing heavily from Egyptian folklore, the game reimagines a legendary folk hero known for his intelligence, humor, and mastery of disguise.

According to a post on social media, FitNot Games Founder, Abdallah Elshabrawy proclaimed that the character was a defining part of his upbringing, inspired by an old Egyptian television series that portrayed Ali as a champion of the people, constantly challenging corrupt authority.

That personal connection appears to be central to the project’s direction. Rather than simply adapting a historical setting, FitNot is building a world shaped by storytelling traditions that would have existed within the same environment.

The studio is also focusing on environmental authenticity. Elshabrawy said that the world is being handcrafted to feel like a living, breathing version of Cairo during the Mamluk era. Players can expect bustling market stalls, intricate archways, faction-based informants, and patrolling guards that require careful strategy to evade. While details on gameplay systems remain limited, the emphasis on disguise, wit, and social navigation aligns closely with the character’s folkloric roots.

Importantly, the project is already approaching a significant milestone. Elshabrawy confirmed that the first playable build is nearly complete, signaling that a public reveal or early showcase may not be far off.
