In what promises to be one of the most intriguing indie game releases of 2026, FixForce the latest project from Surgent Studios is set to launch into Early Access on March 12, 2026 on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Marking a notable shift in approach for the studio, the game is a co-operative extraction platformer that blends chaotic physics-driven gameplay with cooperative teamwork as players take on the roles of robot repair crew members in a vibrant post-post-apocalyptic world. With up to six players working together to build bridges, scale obstacles, scavenge for parts, and fend off rogue bots, FixForce promises a blend of hilarity, ingenuity, and controlled chaos.

What makes FixForce particularly noteworthy in Surgent Studios’ history is that it will be the company’s first self-published title. After two earlier releases that partnered with established publishers with the debut Tales of Kenzera: ZAU published under Electronic Arts’ EA Originals label and their second game Dead Take brought to audiences through a deal with Pocket Pair. FixForce marks a compelling turn toward independence and self-direction.

At the heart of Surgent Studios is Abubakar Salim, the company founder, creative director, and an increasingly influential figure in both the gaming and entertainment worlds. Salim is a British-Kenyan actor-turned-game-maker who first earned widespread recognition for his performance and voice work in major titles such as Assassin’s Creed Origins. His heritage rooted in a Kenyan upbringing and shaped by life in the UK has informed his creative perspective, giving him a unique voice as a storyteller and developer.

Surgent Studios’ trajectory has been remarkable: from a debut title that tackled personal themes and earned critical attention, to a horror-leaning second project that delved into complex industry experiences, and now to FixForce, a game that aims purely for fun and cooperative mayhem. FixForce’s Early Access launch will see the title available on PC platforms, with a wider rollout on Xbox coming later in 2026.
