Central African Republic / French studio Masseka Studio has released its latest project onto The Sandbox creator platform – an action adventure titled, The Legend of Mulu.

The game was developed in partnership with the The Sandbox which fully financed the projects development, thus making The Legend of Mulu the first African themed experience on the platform.

The legend of Mulu is a fairytale about a young girl, Mulu, who is forced to leave her village and hunt down thieves who have come to plunder her village’s sacred artefacts. During her quest, Mulu meets the indigenous peoples of Africa: the Pygmies, the Massais, the Dogons, the Tuaregs… Each of them provides her with the ancestral knowledge she needs to accomplish her mission.

Studio head and founder, Teddy Kossoko stated that only a very small part of Mulu’s storyline was used for The Sandbox. A larger version is planned in the future with a vision closer to the initial scenario, taking players on a journey to the Africa of yesteryear, between tales, dreams and mythologies.
