South African outfit, Pineapple on Pizza Studios were the big winners at 2023 Fak’ugesi Festival for their as yet unreleased project – The Null Factor.

The game was in the running for the award along with a handful of other South African developers at the event which was celebrating a decade of nurturing creativity.

Reacting to the accolade on social media, Pineapple on Pizza CEO, Kushal Jeethendra Sithlu said,

“Thank you Fak’ugesi Festival & Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct for this amazing award, and acknowledging the amazing work created by people in the African Arts Industry!

This really feels like a milestone. As I read through the prize description I found myself almost brought to tears by words that once described a dream of mine. Last year I started a company. This year I’ve pushed it even further alongside my team. And in 2024 , I only intend to break even more barriers.”
