Nairobi based outfit, Internet of Elephants have launched Unseen Empire, the biggest camera trapping project ever attempted and resulted in the largest catalog of photos of any research project on any species.

Internet of Elephants is a social enterprise that harnesses the power of games and social media to attract a massive audience to wildlife conservation

The project brings to life a massive ten-year study by Professor David Macdonald (WildCRU – University of Oxford’s Wildlife Conservation Research Unit), and his team, on the impact of deforestation on the habitat of the clouded leopard.

Unseen Empire allows the player to relive the ten-year study from their own perspective. The user opens research sites across South-East Asia, identifies rare species in hundreds of never-before-seen wildlife photos, places camera traps, reveals scientific data, meets the researchers, and uncovers evidence to influence policymakers to protect the habitat of the clouded leopard.
