A team of Kenyan artists under the moniker Naota Studios have been hard at work lovingly crafting a fantasy RPG called Kawia’s Adventure away from prying eyes until now.

Naota Studios is a Nairobi person studio fronted by the duo of Lydia Mugure and Tabitha Karaba. Lydia is the technical half who brings out their creative vision by using Blender or/and Unity but she is also proficient in Unreal Engine. Kawia’s Adventure is currently being developed in Unity and Blender. Tabitha is the artistic half who comes up and drives the beautiful narratives that match their collective art.

The studio are currently part of the Sony Talent League, which is an annual initiative aimed at creators within the digital entertainment industry aged between 18-30 years old. They are competing against two other teams with the winner set to gain access to funding as well as mentorship by key creators.

Kawia’s Adventure is set in Precolonial East Africa where you play as Kawia, a girl trying to get back home before sunrise: crossing the mysterious plains, defeating evil spirits and through the power of dance, gaining the ability to summon storms and defeat the forces of darkness that threaten your home, in a beautiful celebration of African heritage.

The game is currently being developed for PC with a public test in the works to put the prototype through its paces.
