Nigeria’s games industry will take a significant step onto the international stage later this month with the launch of the country’s first Games from Nigeria pavilion at Gamescom 2026 in Cologne, Germany.

Taking place from 26–28 August, the pavilion will bring Nigerian game studios, developers and ecosystem organisations together under a single national identity, providing a dedicated platform to showcase locally developed games and connect the country’s emerging industry with international publishers, investors and partners.

The delegation is being led by Hugo Obi, Founder and CEO of Maliyo Games, and represents the culmination of several years of ecosystem-building efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s game development talent and creating greater international visibility for its studios.

The Games from Nigeria pavilion will be located at Hall 4.1, Booth C010 and will serve as both an exhibition space and a meeting point for the Nigerian and wider African games industries.

Designed by Bukola Akingbade, Founder of Kucheza Gaming, the pavilion combines contemporary exhibition design with Nigerian-inspired patterns and cultural motifs. Beyond establishing a recognisable national identity on the Gamescom floor, the space has been designed to facilitate meetings between developers and potential publishers, investors, media organisations and other industry partners.

The pavilion will host a three-day programme comprising presentations, live game demonstrations, developer meet-and-greets and networking sessions.

Programming will include an introduction to Nigeria’s games industry and showcases of titles produced by participating developers, alongside discussions around talent development, funding and the wider infrastructure required to support the continued growth of Nigeria’s game development ecosystem.

One of the programme’s key events will be the Africa Games Industry Mixer, which will bring African developers together with international publishers, investors and ecosystem partners attending Gamescom.

“Games from Nigeria is far more than an exhibition stand, it is a statement about where our industry is today and where it is heading,” said Obi.

“For over a decade, we’ve worked to build studios, nurture talent, and grow an ecosystem that can compete on the global stage. Bringing Nigeria to Gamescom through a national pavilion is a proud moment, not only for our delegation but for the entire African games industry. We are excited to share our creativity, our stories, and our ambition with the world.”
