Tunisian indie developer Amilcar Technologies has officially announced that the early access version of HeistFest, its upcoming top-down action racer themed around high-stakes bank robberies and chaotic police pursuits, will hit Steam Early Access on October 21, 2025.

A free demo is currently available during Steam Next Fest, giving players a first taste of the game’s fast-paced, physics-driven mayhem.

HeistFest throws players into the role of a wanted criminal racing against time and law enforcement in a sprawling, destructible hand-drawn cityscape. What starts as a simple getaway quickly escalates into full-scale chaos — with police cars, helicopters, tanks, missiles, and even military paratroopers joining the chase.

Retro Style, Modern Chaos

Visually, HeistFest stands out with its retro black-and-white aesthetic and hand-crafted environments, inspired by international locales such as Italy and Egypt. Underneath the stylized art direction lies a dynamic physics-based driving system, encouraging players to improvise, crash, and craft their way through each escape.

Players can unlock new vehicles, build custom power-ups, and take on procedurally escalating challenges that promise high replayability and that addictive “just one more run” feeling.

A Tunisian Indie Vision with Global Reach

For Amilcar Technologies, based in Tunisia, HeistFest represents more than just a game launch — it’s a statement of the country’s growing role in the international indie development scene. The studio’s work showcases how North African creativity and technical talent are increasingly shaping the future of global game design.

Partnership with indie.io Expands Horizons

In a major development, Amilcar Technologies also announced a strategic partnership with indie.io, an international platform supporting independent developers. The collaboration will bring new resources, creative input, and community engagement tools to the HeistFest project.

“This is a major milestone for our team,” said the developers at Amilcar Technologies. “With indie.io’s support, we’re able to push our ideas further — delivering richer worlds, deeper gameplay, and an even more immersive heist experience.”

As part of this next chapter, the HeistFest Steam page has been completely refreshed, featuring updated visuals and new insights into the game’s evolving design. Fans are encouraged to visit the page, wishlist the title, and follow development updates as the project enters its most ambitious phase yet.

The Road Ahead

Amilcar Technologies expressed gratitude to the growing HeistFest community, promising that the October launch is “just the beginning.” Players can expect developer diaries, behind-the-scenes features, and new content announcements in the months leading up to full release.
