A new report from Niko Partners has highlighted that Egypt along with Saudi Arabia and UAE , which make up the MENA-3 generated $1.92bn in 2023 and is forecasted to generate $2.65bn in 2027.

We know from the most recent State of the Industry Report that Egypt is the top revenue generating country in North Africa, so when coupled with other members of the MENA-3 presents a region on the up.

Egypt accounts for just over 10% of the 2023 revenue, with almost 59% of total MENA-3 gamers coming from the North African nation. In total, 68.4 million gamers came from the region.

Fueled by increasing public and private investment in the games industry, high disposable income, and rising demand from its young population, MENA has quickly emerged as a notable region to watch in the global video games industry.

Saudi Arabia (KSA) is the largest market by games revenue in MENA-3 and is considered the gaming powerhouse of the region, generating more than half the regional revenue in 2023.  

Smartphones are both the most used device for playing games in MENA-3 (87.2% of gamers) and have the highest average hours played each week (8.7 hours)
