Nigerian based developer Gbrossoft have received an Epic MegaGrant for their upcoming title, Outliver: Tribulations.

Outliver: Tribulation is a third-person survival horror game developed with the Unreal Engine and set in a fictional supernatural realm of African mythology about a soldier on the run from terrorists.

In a statement announcing the news, Gbrossoft founder, Mudathir Giwa, voiced his excitement on the implications for the game and his team.

For us, the grant serves as a morale booster and validation for our project. It definitely brings in much needed funds which will aid in fleshing out and polishing certain features of the game alongside the addition of ray-tracing support among others. It also affords us the time to upgrade the project to latest Unreal Engine 5.

Whilst there is no announced roadmap, Giwa was keen to stress that the grant didn’t tie them down to any form of exclusivity.

“For now, Outliver: Tribulation has been approved for release on Xbox One, series S and X so we’re working on releasing it on that platform as well as on Steam for PC but we’re definitely open to more platforms and hope this leads to the game being released on the Epic Store too. After launch we plan on bringing it to as much platforms as we can without compromising on quality,” Giwa concluded.

The game is currently on Steam to wishlist and support.
