South African studio, Space Salad have had two members of the team nominated in two categories as part of the Game Dev Heroes Awards.

Returning for its sixth year in 2023, Game Dev Heroes is a celebration of the people behind the scenes of the games industry with this years iteration set to take place in person at Brighton.

The two directors from Space Salad, Wandile (nominated for sound production) and Thabi (nominated in the programming category) will face off against some of their illustrious contemporaries from all across the industry.

The studio is currently hard at work on their first commercial PC title – Hot Bunz, which is due to be launched on Steam.

Hot Bunz is a physics-based 2D Platformer Party Game with one goal – players must navigate their characters through an obstacle course with rotating rings to collect as many gold coins in a series of increasingly complex levels.

Nominations will be reviewed by a panel of developers and games industry professionals, with shortlists released ahead of the Game Dev Heroes awards ceremony at Develop:Brighton in July 2023.
