The fifth edition of the Digital Lab Africa has come to an end with three creators sharing the top prize at an online event.
In a gathering featuring an esteemed jury panel including games industry representatives from the continent, they whittled the entrants down to vastly different titles with Madagascar, Togo and Nigeria carting home the top prize.
The winners of DLA 2021 are:
Karen Andriamamonjy – KALANORO (Madagascar)
Ifeanyichukwu Obi – MAMA JULIE (Nigeria)
Ismael Daouda Nouhoun – I CAN TRANSFORM (Togo)
Created in 2016, Digital Lab Africa is supported by Agence Française de Développement, Ambassade de France au Nigéria, French Institute of South Africa, Institut français du Nigéria. Digital Lab Africa is a project of the Tshimologong Digital Innovation Precinct.
In 2020, DLA received more than 500 applications from over 32 countries. For its fifth edition, Digital Lab Africa went full digital. All winners will join an incubator where they can expect access to expert mentorship, playtest and marketing workshops, masterclasses, participation in Demo Day pitches and Industry related events.
