Cameroonian outfit, Joinplay Games have started the new year in a similar vein to how they ended it by securing an Epic Megagrant. This is hot off the heels of their December windfall that came in the form of Humble Bundle’s Black Game Developer Fund.
Joinplay Games have been awarded the grant to aid the development of their 3D Afrofantasy action-adventure RPG with exploration and narration inspired by the Dogon mythology.”
Excitedly proclaiming his delight was Michel Nkuindja, the CEO of JoinPlay Games, “We are so honored, and excited about this Megagrant and will utilize the grant to help us continue our development of the game.

With a couple of recent funding successes behind the studio, he had some words of advice for any local developers looking to gain the same level of support.
“Focus on a small part of your game, trying to bring out what makes your game unique and exceptional (new gameplay, visual style, etc ). If possible, prepare an early build of your game (ideally a walkthrough) and above all, take the time to provide a pitch of your game, in which you will talk briefly about the strengths of your game, your team, the budget needed (although this may not necessarily be the one you are asking for as a grant) and your development timeline,” he added.
Joinplay Games is being supported by Finnish Living Game Intelligence Network (LGIN). LGIN is a free support network for the Finnish game industry that matches volunteer and mentors with young game teams to organise workshops, networking as well as offer coaching support.
