The African App Launchpad (AAL) initiative is set to return for its second year and has an open call for developers, big and small from all across the continent to sign up, tune in and potentially win big.

The African App Launchpad (AAL) initiative is an Africa-wide platform aiming to establish sustainable startups and eco-systems in the ever-changing app and game technologies by supporting the next generation from Egypt and other African States.

The unique competition is a collaboration with Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA); backed by Microsoft as well as a consortium of early-stage startups from 19 different countries.

This years event will focus on two main tracks: Game Development and App Development with entrants to the game jam with a chance to take home cash prizes totalling $72k.

Registration to the event is now open until November 22, 2020. Any studios and game development teams wishing to be part of the event can do so by registering on the AAL website.
