Tunisian studio, Nuked Cockroach have been nominated for a Games Without Borders Award for their game Veteran Online.

Nuked Cockroach is a thirty person strong team that was originally founded in 2015 with top down shooter – Veteran Online their most recent project.

BWB is an annual contest organized by Tencent. The team in the Tencent Games Group and the Tencent Institute for Games is dedicated to supporting game devs around the world, especially small and medium-sized indies.

They run the Tencent GWB Support Plan and can draw on a pool of more than 200 developers who were hand-picked to provide feedback and advice to developers, in order to give their games the best chance of success in Chinese-language markets. Beyond that, it’s possible participating developers can receive financial and publishing support via the Tencent Gameplay Innovation Fund and Tencent distribution channels.

Previous winners of GWB awards include, Nimbatus by Stray Fawn Studios as well as Profane by OverPowered Team. Recent judges to the event include Kate Edwards (Executive Director – Global Game Jam) and Roger Chandler (Intel – VP/GM Visual Computing Software).
